So, I went to Switzerland today and didn't even get a stamp on my passport to show for it.Switzerland hmmm - cold, didn't see a yodelling person anywhere, they don't use euro and a lot of people speak German. It was very pretty but I think because I'm in Como and the information place ladies sent me to another lake district it was a little of more of the same, although Switzerland has much prettier buildings, and I think the men might be a little more handsome. Their food costs a lot more, but their clocks are on time. Not at all sorry I went but next time I will go do a different area.
On the way to the train this morning I got followed by two yucks. One was from Tunsania and wouldn't stop talking to me, the other was a very old man who kept following me, stopping when I stopped and was extremely obvious about it. So, after shaking off the Tunsanian guy and then realising that the old guy was not giving up, I stopped at a spot where there were three old geezers kicking back and chewing the fat (and chatting up an old duck and her dog I suspect), buon giorno'd them and stood there until dirty old geezer got sick of waiting and had to take off. Good on the old geezers for letting me stand there without perving or making me feel uncomfortable I say! Got the train to Switzerland, no-one checked my travel papers, walked down, down, down heaps of steps into the town that was bordered by McDs and Hungyry Jacks, that helped me not get lost.I wandred and miandered, stopped for lunch, asked for bruschetta, got two pieces of toast with oil and garlic - tasty but not what I was expecting - walked around, got the "Funibus" back to the station (the funicular isnt working), arrived at the train station, had a bit of a tiff at the bar at the station because I was going to buy a soduko book to shoot the breeze til the train came but the signora at the bar wouldn't take euro so I bought nothing and sat and watched.
I'm back in Como, internet works on my phone but not on my tablet so about to go to nonna's bar and hope she has free wifi, if not I will have a drink and some pizza there then move on to somewhere with wifi and upload and email.
Tomorrow - ferry to the town that has the trolley car up the mountainside and go to la posta to get rid of some stuff. Have my train ticket to Venice, hands up if you are excited!!
