I'm in Lucca 11 Settembre 2014

I'm in Lucca now.
I got up ridiculously early and got the train from Firenze to Lucca, it only took about an hour, but mamma mia it was warm when I got here.
I'm sick of being hot.
Got a little lost once I got inside the walls but the woman who owns the apartment had sent me her phone number so I rang her and met her in the piazza just near the apartment.  She took one look at me and wanted to know why I was not a man because my name is a man's name.
What can I say, the balls I have obviously weren't what she was looking for!
We got to the apartment and jesus christ I thought she was never ever ever going to leave.  She was so loud and I think a little simple.  I just wanted to say shoosh and get out.  Once she realised it was just me she went around the apartment taking things I wouldn't be needing, the other towels on the bed, one of the TOILET ROLLS!!!!  I didnt care, just get out!
I walked back to the station and organised my ticket for Parma for Saturday, all sorted, then came back inside the walls and walked and walked and found the piazza ampitheatre and had some wine, some lunch, some more wine and walked.
I got so lost!! and by this stage I was hot, sick and tired of being lost and probably a glass or two too much liquid, I had a slight melt-down.  I am so grateful that you can make a free phone call on facebook..
Feeling much better after a chat, I walked around some more, this time much calmer!  I found a piazza where there was a guy playing the violin and stood and listened to him for ages.
The weird land lady told me there were free recitals at night in the piazza out the front.  Wrong weird lady.  The recitals are held in the church and cost 20 euro so I went back to the piazza and listened some more to the violin.
Feeling very tired I stopped for dinner - a glass of wine, a dish of peanuts and a macchiato are dinner aren't they - and am now back at the apartment,  Washing machine is pumping.  My shit is everywhere so I'm about to go and sort myself out a bit and make myself have an early night.
There's tv in the apartment, the only english thing on is some murder mystery bullshit that I dont even watch when I am at home so might as well have silence again because I can't understand a word of the Italian anyway!  I have had almost 4 years of Italian.  How come all I seem to be able to understand is 'prego', 'signora' and 'allora'.  What the fuck is that about?
