It wasn't too late last night when I got back to my room but the group of (I'm guessing) teenagers that were in the laneway (guessing again) beside the nunnery that were 'enjoying' themselves (probably talking but in Venice all noise is amplified because it is so quiet) became louder and louder until about an hour later I heard a voice telling them (I think, it was in Italian) to be quiet then it became peaceful again.
I heard the 7am bells going but then managed to go back to sleep for a couple more hours but then I heard Mary the Maid outside my room getting herself sorted to clean the rooms and because it's change my sheets day I wasn't missing out so I got up and went out and walked into Castello where I knew it would be quieter. After walking around for a couple of hours I thought to myself, and I think I said it aloud to myself, that I felt like some vegies and bingo bango there in front of me was a Chinese Restaurant! Sorted! I ordered vegies with tofu and rice (I had to try to explain rice because I didn't know the word in Italian) and about two seconds later a little Chinese man went running out the shop and came back about two minutes later with tofu and vegies he had just bought to cook for my lunch. Lunch was yum and I got the restaurant's card so I can find it again and go back. It did my head in a bit, speaking Italian to a Chinese guy! (Not racist)

Then it started to rain, so I wound my way back to the nunnery after a quick look at San Marco because I saw on Facebook it was acqua alta and I wanted to see it, but it must have gone down quickly because there was no acqua alta by the time I got there.

They have their plastic 'boots' ready for acqua alta - I won't be buying any of those, I will continue to walk in the 'high ground' areas
Still raining so I came back to my room, changed into my jarmies and I'm having a CBF day, done some washing. It is 4pm here and getting dark outside, it might even be time for a bit of a snooze ...
