I have had a busy day again of course, and my legs are knackered. I should have the legs of a fricken race horse by now. Today I walked around a corner and actually groaned aloud and said 'ugh another bridge'. I race over them but jesus my legs scream at me to STOP but if I stop I will never get over them!
I get out early every day - well early for me on holidays in venice, I usually wake up around 8ish and get cracking, I don't want to waste too much of the day laying around being Mary, plus I know the cleaners want to do my room!!!!I spent the last few hours of 'sleep' half awake thinking about which vaporetto to get wednesday morning so I get to the station on time for my train Wednesday, only because the last couple of days I have caught the wrong vaporetto. Didn't matter then, but will matter Wednesday. Anyway, went back to the information chick and she told me which one to get, and I also bought a two day ticket so I can get on any vaporetto anytime without being in a queue with a million others, might end up being a couple of euro dearer but I am happy to pay the extra. I bought a seven day ticket when I arrived but that has run out now.Sorted out my phone too, I knew the dick yesterday didnt know what I wanted. The girl was there today, along with the dick, and I told her that I was confused so she explained everything perfectly. I have paid five euro for 2 extra gig then Thursday I am meant to renew my monthly contract. Which is what I thought, not what I asked the dick for yesterday though. Anyway, the chick has sorted it. I did pay five euro yesterday for the extra gig, and now I have paid to renew my contract for a month and it will stay in credit until Thursday when it will deduct the monthly payment - mostly because by then I will be in Perugia and won't know where the phone place is to fix it all. Makes sense to me - anyway, all sorted. After that I went walking. I walked around the Jewish quarter again, different calle (laneways) this time. Stopped at a little restaurant along a small canal and had some bruschetta and insalata for lunch. I was the only one there so got all the attention. The waitress was lovely, only spoke to me in Italian, told me that 'Perche e' caldo e sole, tutti al mare' - because it was hot and the sunny everyone was at sea - so the fishermen were out fishing - that's why no-one was around.I had a lovely lunch there, then went walking, found a little shop somewhere and bought a couple of things, the Chinkanese woman there told me that I spoke very good Italian - I'm not sure if that is a good thing to have a Chinese person tell you that you speak Italian very well. Then I needed the toilet so went back to the nunnery. Then out and about this afternoon, one block back from the mahem of San Marco during the day, until I needed the dunny again and my legs were screaming at me to stop. I'm now sitting at a restaurant just over the bridge from the nunnery and a block back from San Marco, about to have some bruschetta and then some cheeses. I think I shit them because I don't sit and have a huge meal after being a user and using their free wifi. Plus I just got caught by the Indian waiter (they are all fricken Indian) perving on two magnificent Italian stallions ...
