Ciao and buona sera (Hello and good evening) from Perugia.
I left my room at the nunnery early because someone else was leaving early and they woke me when they wheeled their suitcase past my room, so I was gone from there at about 7.45. That gave me time to go to a cafe and have coffee with a squillion others about to start working, then I went to the ferry, there was one waiting, I got on it and I was at the station an hour early! After all that!
That wasn't too terrible, it gave me enought time to have another cup of coffee and then I went to the ticket office and got my ticket from here to Rome on Saturday, then got on the train which was a 'fast train' to Florence. I dont know why it's called 'fast train', I must find out. Then had a bit of a stress because I couldn't find out which train I was meant to get to Perugia, even the information guy didn't know, he had to go to the counter and find out, and then they were wrong, so I was about to cry when it showed up on the screen overhead, so I just followed that. Then, the ride to Perugia just took forever. It was full, and stopped at almost every stop. I finally got to Perugia about 4, and got a taxi to the B&B because by now I wasn't going to try to figure out the bus.
Turns out the B&B is like the one I stayed in when I was in Sicilia three years ago, an apartment and they put an ensuite in each room then rent them out. No access to a kitchen for a cuppa which is shit and which is why I bought one of those camping water boiler things and stole a cup from somewhere and I use that with my tbags. Best thing I ever bought.
The chick gave me a map and told me a couple of places to eat and that was it. She doesn't stay here but will be back in the morning to make breakfast. That will be interesting. Then I asked her for a receipt. I don't think she was expecting that!
Anyway, I went for a walk to try to get my bearings and I turned around a corner and knew straight away where I was. I went to the information place to find out the times of the bus to the station because I want to get the train tomorrow to Assisi. Well the chick in there, it was like I had asked her the hardest question in the world and you would think I had asked her to take me herself. She banged on about some minibus or something and using that instead of the bus and it leaves more often, but when I asked her to show me where it left from on the map, again it was like I had asked her to take me there herself.
Then I went for a walk and found the same chick who did my nails when I was here last time and she is still there, so made an appointment with her in the morning, I will ask her everything I want to know.
I've done some more washing, man am I sick of hand washing, I had forgotten all about that!
I think it is going to rain all day tomorrow, but one good thing is I have found somewhere that makes a good spritz. Swings and round abouts!
Plan for tomorrow is breakfast, nails then go to Assisi for the day, see how we go!
