Last day in Roma for now

Got up early today, early for breakfast at the nunnery!  Walked to Piazza Popolo then on to the Spanish Steps.  I'm glad I went early because after being at the steps for about ten minutes the hoardes of tourists started to arrive.  I walked up the steps, watched the "gladiator" touting for pictures, a bride and groom pose for bridal pictures (it wasn't even 10am), bought a little painting, then walked down the steps again, wandered around and found myself back in my neighbourhood where I had coffee and orange juice so I could use the 'free' wifi.  Then I came back to my bare nunnery room and finally figured out how to save my photos from my camera on to my tablet.  It is a slow and labourious job that I am sure there is an easier way to do, but for now at least I can do it.
Put my shoes back on (blisters) and tried to find the place Marco and I had a drink at last night but after wandering around for an hour I gave up and found a spunk so ate bruschetta and insalata with vino at his little restaurant.  Then back to my room where I was going to stay and get myself sorted for my 'journey' to Firenze tomorrow but after a couple of hours I went out again, walked along the river, across the pedestrian bridge and to the market stalls at the back of the castle where I bought four comics that I'm hoping to read.  I wasnt going to buy them because I don't particularly want to lug them all over Italy but luckily I spoke to the girl and she told me the market was only there for another week so I grabbed them - too good to pass up at one euro each.
I started to get a little bit sad at the thought of leaving Roma but then I told myself that the eternal city has been around for a while and is likely to be here still in another three years which is when I will probably get back - all things considering, so that stopped me from getting too sad.  Then I walked back along the river, past all the rubbish, dog poo, (I think) vomit and general filth that Rome is.
I was then going to come back to my room and get packed up but got distracted and ended up hanging around Piazza Navona again for a while, then found a pizzeria and had a glass of vino, bruchetta, a pizza and expresso for ten euro THEN I finally came back to the nunnery and have sorted out my things so am ready to get il autobus to termini in the morning for my train to Firenze.
I'm hoping my nunnery room in Firenze is similar - or better than - this nunnery room.   The only thing with this room is that when I am in bed and turn over my knee hits the wall, I guess I'm just not used to a single bed!!!
